Daisies and Lilies • Hearts and Roses

I have been a lover of Hearts and Roses dresses ever since I got into the retro/vintage style and fashion. My first retro inspired dress ever was a black polkadot dress by Hearts and Roses. I have loved it for so long but sadly I don’t wear it anymore since it got washed wrong while I was still living at home and it got a lot shorter than it originally was, I do still have it hanging in my closet since I just can’t say goodbye to it.

I am a big sucker for floral prints, I love them and the bring joy and warmth to my heart. A few weeks ago I spotted this gorgeous dress online, The Daisy Lily floral swing dress by Hearts and Roses and I was in love. July is the official sales month here in Belgium so I just had to have this dress when I saw it was 40% off on the TopVintage retro boutique store and it is even more beautiful than I had ever hoped. The main colour of this dress is a vibrant blue paired with greens and pinks which make this dress pop while standing in my quite dry garden.

The dress has a tight fitted bodice with gathering at the front of the bust to accentuate your girls even more. The front of the bodice is more open and summery with small straps, showing quite a lot of skin. The straps flow over into a fully closed back.

The skirt is a full circle skirt without gathering that falls beautifully even without a petticoat underneath, which is just perfect for those summer days when it just too hot for a petticoat and we have had quite a few days like those already in the past few weeks here in Belgium. The dress doesn’t have a belt so I paired it with my favorite brown belt to complement the more earthy green tones in this bright dress, my white lily hair flower clip and nude/pink flats.

Full Outfit Details

Petticoat • Dancing Days by Banned (bought on TopVintage)

Hair flower • handmade (for sale on Etsy)

Bangle • Putting on the Ritz

I bought the Daisy Lily dress in size S since the Hearts and Roses dresses are usually quite tight in the bust area for me in XS and I do like to feel comfortable and still have enough room to move around easily during the day. It is also depending on the bra I am wearing underneath this dress the bust is looser or tighter. I bought this dress on TopVintage for €32,97 (originally €54,95) sadly it is only available in size XS at the moment. All other sizes sold out quite fast during the sale.
